Wisdom Teeth Removal
Providing specialized, unhurried care with IV sedation and advanced 3D planning to ensure a safe, predictable, and stress-free recovery for teens and adults.
Clinical Precision
An Impaction Shouldn't Compromise Your Dental Alignment or Cause Unnecessary Pain.
Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the final teeth to erupt in the mouth, usually between the ages of 17 and 25. Because modern jaws often lack the necessary space, wisdom teeth can emerge sideways, cause pain, crowd adjacent teeth, or become trapped beneath the gums (impaction).
Dr. John Pritchett has completed years of hospital-based surgical residency to handle even the most complex impactions safely. By utilizing 3D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), we map the precise location of your wisdom teeth relative to critical sensory nerves, ensuring maximum safety and a rapid recovery.
Pain Prevention
Prevents the development of severe cysts, sinus pressure, and chronic infection.

Signs You Need Evaluation
- Jaw Pain or Stiffness: Persistent aching near the back of your mouth or jaw hinge.
- Swollen Gums: Red, bleeding, or tender gum tissues behind your second molars.
- Crowding and Shifting: Feeling pressure on neighboring teeth, causing them to shift alignment.
- Sinus Pressure: Pressure, congestion, or nasal pain triggered directly by upper root growth.

Common Questions
Preparation is the key to comfort. Explore these standard clinical insights to feel secure before your visit.
At what age should wisdom teeth be removed?
The ideal window is typically between the ages of 16 and 22. During this period, the tooth roots are only partially developed and the surrounding bone is more flexible, which makes extraction much easier and dramatically reduces recovery times.
How long does the recovery take?
Most patients recover within 3 to 5 days. For the first day, restful care is recommended. Swelling and mild bruising peak at day 2 or 3, but fade quickly. Normal foods can typically be resumed after one week.
Will I be awake during the surgery?
Most patients choose safe IV sedation or general anesthesia, allowing them to sleep completely through the procedure. However, we also offer local anesthesia or nitrous oxide for those who prefer to remain awake while completely numb and relaxed.
